Monotype Printmaking Workshop at Vancouver Island University
During my trip to BC we visited friends on Vancouver Island, a very beautiful and very rainy place this time of year. The City of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island is home to Vancouver Island University (VIU) and Gregory Ball the current chair of fine arts and printmaking instructor invited me to teach a Monotype Printmaking Workshop to his print foundations class of 20 people. What a lovely studio and a great bunch of students!

A few lovely improvised monotypes by some of the participating students. The challenge was to recognize all the different marks, and experiments they could create with found material and then use it to create a meaningful piece and interesting piece.
Scott and I framed at the Nanaimo waterfront.
Thank you to Kelsey, Brodie, Cordelia, Arthur & Harriet for putting up with us!
