Valentine's day card making workshop at Visual Voice in Truro

The lovely Nuri at Visual Voice Fine Art in Truro invited me to put on a relief printing workshop with the theme make your own Valentine's day card. Unfortunately the Tuesday Feb 9th class was postponed until two days later due to the snow day, but in the end it worked out beautifully. And we had great fun. Here are some photos from the workshop fun at Visual Voice!

The wonderful Bob Morouney of Hidden House Press lent me his beautiful little Praga Printing Press to use for the workshop since I am still searching for my own little table top press. Thank you Bob!!

The Gallery space is all set up and ready for the workshop.

The lovely participants are drawing their images and transferring them.

Carving!

I demonstrated the inking and printing process with a little Valentine's day block of my own carved in Komatex.

More carving and some proofing.

We used non-toxic Akua inks for printing during the workshop and after printing it on many different materials we definitely liked it the best on nice rag paper.

The first participant is ready for printing.

Now all three are switching on and off the press.

Finished prints.

Stay tuned for dates on more workshops in April!
