Nucleus & Energy Containment
I carved a set of intricate circular linocuts during the summer and have been quite unsure about how to proceed with printing them. What paper to use... overlay them, make them part of a bigger piece.. etc.. sometimes I over think things too. So finally I just went for it and chose one of the smaller blocks to work with as key-block and carved a reduction block to go with it. I then again was unsure about color choice and printed a split edition, fluidly making color decisions from one layer to the next. It's strange to me how dark my most recent linos are turning out. This isn't particularly on purpose but I am not fighting it either. I printed these on the new Takach etching press using a jig with punched holes for registration pins. I am not finished with the key layer of this block, it's definitely going to show up again in a different way. But I am enjoying the results for these two blocks.
