The lovely people at publicdomainregistry.com have assisted me patiently and I can announce and say maria-doering.com is back in my control as well as it has a new home.

hmm.. are you sure that your web page is "up and running"? accessing the URL leads me to a spam website and it says
"This domain name expired on 2008-07-21. Click here to renew it."
all taken care of. it works just fine.
